Do you take my insurance?

McComb Skin Clinic participates Traditional Medicare, Blue Cross Blue Shield, United Healthcare, Loomis and Tricare Standard. If we are not contracted with your insurance company, we will file your claim for you as a courtesy.  For out of network patients, payment will be collected at the time of service; the filing of your insurance is done as a courtesy to assist in your reimbursement by your insurance company.

Why should I see a dermatologist for my skin condition rather than my general practitioner or another specialty?

The dermatologists of McComb Skin Clinic are certified by the American Board of Dermatology.  They have received specialized training in dermatology and are best suited and prepared to identify and treat diseases and conditions of the skin, hair, and nails.  The skin is the largest organ of the body.  Skin diseases sometimes reveal internal illness;  a dermatologist is a skilled diagnostician who can evaluate and identify these diseases and their manifestations.

Do you treat children and infants?

Yes, the providers of McComb Skin Clinic treat patients of all ages.

What treatments do you offer for acne?

Treatment for acne is individualized to the patient.  Various internal and topical prescription medicines are offered depending upon the severity of the condition.  Other treatments may include injections, simple surgical procedures, microdermabrasion, and laser therapy.  These therapies are often combined into a regimen specific for your condition.

Will you remove my skin lesion during my initial office visit?

The treatment of your specific skin lesion depends upon its diagnosis and evaluation by the practitioner to determine the best treatment option.  Biopsies, cryosurgeries, destructive therapies, and very simple excisions may be performed at this initial visit.  More involved surgeries will be scheduled for a surgical appointment.

Where are skin surgeries performed?

All skin surgeries are performed here at McComb Skin Clinic in our surgery suite.  There is no facility charge.  Local anesthesia is used.  Special directions will be given regarding the need for a driver and pre and post-operative care.

What cosmetic services do you provide?

Our nurse practitioner, Charly Schmidt, performs Botox and Dysport neurotoxin injections and  Juvederm, Restylane, and Revance dermal filler injections to smooth wrinkles, correct and fill deep wrinkles and deficits, and to augment areas which have suffered from the loss of elasticity and skin aging.   She also assesses and prescribes individualized skin care regimens and performs SkinPen microneedling, and chemical peels for conditions such as acne, hyperpigmentation, sun damage, wrinkling and facial deficits.  Our clinic also provides laser procedures for hair reduction, telangiectasia destruction, rosacea, hyperpigmentation, and tattoo removal.

Do you dispense prescription and cosmeceutical products?

Yes, we represent several pharmaceutical companies.  That listing can be found on our website.
